Located on the historically famous Cable Beach in The Bahamas, you will find Baha Mar, a gorgeous new resort over ten years in the making. As your mother once told you, good things come to those that wait. The waiting is now over. I visited Baha Mar in May 2017 and wanted to share my experience at the hottest new resort in The Caribbean. This grandiose resort offers natural beauty, state-of-the-art luxury, and enough activities to easily fill a week’s stay. The stats are nothing but impressive:

  • 2,200 Hotel Rooms and Residences
  • 3 Luxury Hotels: Grand Hyatt (open now), SLS (Fall 2017), and Rosewood (Spring 2018)
  • 100,000 square foot casino – the Caribbean’s largest
  • 30 restaurants & bars
  • Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course
  • 200,000 square foot Convention Centre
  • 30,000 square foot ESPA spa

My expectations were met the moment I arrived.

Aqua blue tile mimics the crystal-clear water of the ocean while white and gold compliment the pristine sand of Cable Beach. The hotel has incorporated Bahamian art and used the environment as inspiration for the phenomenal décor.

Stunning elevators. I will admit I had to look twice.

My guest room at the Hyatt was elegant and matched the aesthetic I discovered in the lobby and casino. The bed faces the gorgeous ocean view so you can relax and take in the magnificence of the tropics.

Beyond the guest rooms, you will find fantastic dining options, multiple pools, a gorgeous beach, and plenty of meeting space. I fell in love with the use of color and art in the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center

Colorful art in the convention center.

After a long day of meetings, I was able to wind down at 3 Tides; a Mediterranean inspired restaurant with a Bahamian flare.  Fresh ingredients cooked in a vibrant open kitchen provided a little entertainment with my meal. Attendees will not be disappointed with the extensive menu selection and attentive staff.

The next day I took the plunge!  My favorite pool was the Blue Hole. Being a kid at heart, I dove straight into the water off the rock cliff and swam under the waterfall for an up-close look at sea turtles, fish, and nurse sharks.

If relaxing in the sun is more your style, numerous other pools provide a calmer setting for acquiring that perfect Caribbean tan.

When it was time to pack up and head home, I was happy to recall that Nassau’s Lynden Pindling Airport is only 15 minutes away. As I gathered my things, I couldn’t help but grab this cheeky little in-room souvenir on the way out.

I highly recommend Baha Mar for any incentive traveler, especially those looking for the latest and greatest experiences in the Caribbean.
